Consul General Takahashi exchanges views with the President of the Maine Senate and the Speaker of the Maine House (April 15, 2025)

On February 25th, Consul General Takahashi visited Augusta, Maine, and exchanged views with the President of the Maine Senate Mattie Daughtry and Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives Ryan Fecteau at the Maine State House. The meeting was also attended by Representative Ellie Sato, a Japanese-American member of the Maine House of Representatives.
During the discussion, the leaders welcomed the historical ties between Japan and the State of Maine through baseball(link) and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening economic ties, sister-state/city relationships including Aomori Prefecture and the State of Maine, and broader people-to-people and cultural exchanges.
