Shoyeido President Hata Masataka awarded the Consul General’s Commendation

On April 12th, Consul General Suzuki presented the Consul General’s Commendation to President Masataka Hata of Kyoto’s renowned incense company, Shoyeido. The award ceremony took place at the official residence. This commendation recognizes Mr. Hata’s many years’ contribution to promoting the art of Kodo (Japanese incense ceremony) across various locations in the United States, with a focus in Boston. The Consul General’s Commendation is awarded to individuals or groups who have made significant contributions to the promotion of mutual understanding and friendly relations between Japan and the United States.
