Commendation Ceremony of The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon for Prof.　Paul Watanabe (January 19, 2018)

The Commendation Ceremony for Prof. Paul Watanabe, Professor of Political Science and Director of the Institute for Asian American Studies, University of Massachusetts Boston was held at the Consul General’s residence on January 18. After Consul General Michii’s remarks, Profs. Dr. Kaing of Umass Boston gave congratulatory remarks, followed by Mr. Benjamin Watanabe, son of Prof. Watanabe proposing a toast. All guests celebrated Prof. Watanabe.

Prof. Watanabe received the decoration of his Contribution to enhancing the social status of Japanese Americans in the United States.
