Tokyo Metropolitan Government Accelerator Program “FinTech Business Camp Tokyo”

In November 2017, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) formulated the “Global Financial City: Tokyo” Vision, with the aim of making Tokyo an unrivalled global financial center. As nurturing of the FinTech industry is key to achieving this Vision, TMG has launched a dedicated accelerator program, “Fintech Business Camp Tokyo.” This program is targeted at foreign startup companies (hereinafter “foreign companies”) operating in the field of FinTech industry and aims to provide them with mentoring from leading companies in Japan’s finance sector, as well as business matching with companies in Tokyo. The program will progress as below, with focus on (2) and (3) over a short period of around two months.

(1)   Application and selection of foreign companies possessing the latest FinTech technologies (such as AI and blockchain) and business models.
(2) 　Provide support for creating business plans by matching selected foreign companies with Japanese financial institutions, etc.
(3) 　Host pitch events, with participants including investors, companies, etc. from Tokyo.
