Extension of period for accepting 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake donations

We have received many condolences for the victims of the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake. Thank you so much for your support and concern.
 
The Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan has decided to extend the period for accepting 2016 Kumamoto earthquake donations until March 31st, 2017, and announced the extension on its home page. 
 
In view of the above, the Consulate General of Japan in Boston has likewise decided to extend the period for accepting donations to the Government of Japan for the victims of the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake until March 31st, 2017. Please note, however, that the Consulate will stop accepting donations to the Japanese Red Cross Society as of June 30th, 2016.
 
 (note) After a donation is received by the Consulate, the money will be delivered to the affected people through local governments.
