The Imperial Decoration Ceremony of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon for Professor J. Mark Ramseyer (December 19th, 2018)

The Imperial Decoration Ceremony for Prof. J. Mark Ramseyer, Mitsubishi Professor of Japanese Legal Studies at Harvard Law School, was held at the Consul General’s residence on December 19th, 2018. After Consul General Michii’s remarks, Prof. Ramseyer gave an acceptance speech, followed by Prof. Susan Pharr of Harvard University proposing a toast. All guests celebrated Prof. Ramseyer.

Prof. Ramseyer received the decoration for his contributions to the development of Japanese studies in the U.S. and the promotion of understanding of Japanese society and culture.
