October 7, 2026
On October 1, Consul General Takahashi hosted a reception at his official residence welcoming the delegation from the Kansai Association of Corporate Executives (Kansai Doyukai) during their visit to Boston. Led by Co-Chairs Mr. Yuji Mikasa (Vice Chairman, Nippon Life Insurance Company) and Mr. Kazuaki Hasegawa (Representative Director and President, West Japan Railway Company), the delegation of 34 business leaders visited the region to attend the annual Boston Symposium and engage with local stakeholders.
The reception brought together approximately 70 guests, including officials from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development and other state departments, state and city legislators, and key representatives from major local companies, universities, research institutions, startups, and accelerators.
Since 1993, Kansai Doyukai has co-hosted the annual Boston Symposium alongside the Harvard Kennedy School and the Japan Society of Boston, with this year marking its 34th iteration.
At the beginning of the reception, remarks were delivered by Consul General Takahashi, Kansai Doyukai Co-Chair Mr. Hasegawa, representatives from the state governments of Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. Guests engaged in active and fruitful discussions on concrete opportunities for collaboration, leveraging the respective strengths of both Kansai and the New England region to further deepen their innovation partnership.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Boston will continue to build upon the J-NEXUS platform and work closely with relevant stakeholders to further strengthen and enrich Japan–U.S. relations in the region, fostering a resilient, creative, and enduring partnership.
