Event Report: Cultural Evening “Leadership, Followership, and Group Culture in a Changing Japan” (June 26, 2026)

On June 26th, the Consulate-General of Japan in Boston hosted a Japanese cultural event titled " Cultural Evening: Leadership, Followership, and Group Culture in a Changing Japan". The event featured Dr. Cyrus Konstantinakos, Intercultural Consultant at Harvard University and Instructor at Showa Boston Institute, and Mr. Yoshiatsu Murata, Associate at Harvard University's Weatherhead Center on U.S.-Japan Relations, as guest speakers.
Mr. Konstantinakos and Mr. Murata introduced the nature of leadership and interpersonal relationship culture in Japanese schools and workplaces through concrete examples. Approximately 35 Japanese and American participants, including students from Showa Boston, also actively engaged in discussions based on their own experiences and perspectives regarding ideal leadership and effective working methods across different cultures.
