Consul General Takahashi Plants Cherry Trees
On June 5, 2026, Consul General Takahashi planted two cherry tree saplings in the garden of Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont's official residence, together with Honorary Consul Gregory A. Boyko of Simsbury and representatives from three Japan-America Societies in Connecticut—the Japan Society of Greater Hartford, the Japan Society of Fairfield County, and the Us & Japan Society of CT.
This event is part of a larger initiative led by Honorary Consul Boyko and the three Japan-America Societies to donate and plant 250 cherry trees across Connecticut in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
The Consul General expressed sincere appreciation to Governor Lamont for hosting the event and hopes that this symbolic gesture will further strengthen the friendly ties between Japan and Connecticut.
