The Consulate General of Japan in Boston is seeking a Specialist for Website and SNS Management for a fixed-term position. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the Consulate’s website and social networking service (SNS) accounts. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in Japan-U.S. relations and international affairs. Please see below for a detailed list of responsibilities.

Contract Period
Until March 31, 2027 (with the possibility of extension)
Scope of Services
• Analyzing social media trends of other organizations related to the Consulate’s accounts
• Contents planning and development for the Consulate’s website and social media accounts
• Producing and editing photo and video content for the Consulate’s website and social media accounts
• Supporting the planning and implementation of the Consulate’s cultural events
• Assisting with the Consulate’s public relations activities, beyond website and social media management
Essential Qualifications and Expertise
• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Proficiency in Japanese and English
• Strong computer skills, including extensive experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as the ability to create website articles
• Image and video editing skills
• Flexibility and ingenuity
Working Hours and Benefits
Working hours: 9:00 am – 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional paid overtime may be required. Salary is commensurate with work and academic experience.
