Presentation of a Commendation from the Consul General to Mr. Nobuhiro Mitsuoka (May 3, 2026)

On May 3, Consul General Takahashi presented a Commendation to Mr. Nobuhiro Mitsuoka in recognition of his significant contributions to promoting friendly relations between Japan and Boston, as well as between Japan and the United States. Mr. Mitsuoka has played a key role in these efforts through his various activities, including serving as President of the Boston Japan Festival since 2023 and being appointed as a “Hiroshima Peace Ambassador” by the City of Hiroshima in March 2026.
Mr. Mitsuoka expressed his gratitude for the award and stated his aspiration to continue working toward making the Boston Japan Festival a sustainable event. He noted that this year’s festival was held over two days, attracted 130,000 participants, and has grown into one of the largest Japan festivals in the United States.
