Connecticut State Legislature's Legislative Citation
Three Japan-America Societies
On April 29, the Connecticut State Legislature issued a legislative citation to recognize the efforts of three Japan-America Societies in the state ("Japan Society of Greater Hartford," " Japan Society of Fairfield County," and "Us&Japan Society of Connecticut.") in planting 250 Japanese cherry blossom trees in honor of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

The citation honored the contributions of these three organizations and our consulate to celebrate and strengthen the enduring friendship between the Japan and United States, and between Japan and the State of Connecticut.

We express our gratitude to Speaker of the House Matt Ritter for his initiative in leading this legislative citation.

On this occasion, Consul General Takahashi, together with Honorary Consul Boyko, hosted a reception at the State Capitol, where participants enjoyed Japanese food prepared by Chef Asai, an Official Chef of Japan’s Overseas Mission, and deepened their exchanges in a convivial atmosphere.
