At the Annual General Meeting
On March 27, Consul General Takahashi attended the Annual General Meeting of the Massachusetts General Hospital Japanese Association.

The meeting was attended by Japanese researchers active in the Boston area, as well as young physicians and medical students visiting Boston as part of the Boston Medical Odyssey, a program organized by Professor Mitsuyoshi Urashima of the Department of Molecular Epidemiology at The Jikei University School of Medicine under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s Advanced Medical Human Resources Development Initiative. The program featured presentations by Japanese researchers, followed by networking and exchange among participants.

During the meeting, Consul General Takahashi introduced a new initiative launched by the Consulate-General of Japan in Boston in February of this year: J‑NEXUS (Japan–New England Nexus for Innovation). He outlined its key components, including the development of a comprehensive list of Japanese principal investigators (PIs) active in New England and the publication of an information platform titled J‑NEXUS Quarterly Report. He explained that, under the Consulate’s leadership, the initiative aims to systematically build networks among Japanese PIs in the region and to regularly disseminate information on innovation-related trends in both Japan and New England through the Quarterly Report. These efforts are intended to promote international circulation of talent and to strengthen dialogue and information sharing that may lead to future collaborative research.
