On February 2, Consul General Seiichiro Takahashi hosted a handover ceremony for the Foreign Minister’s Commendation for FY2025, presented to Ms. Christine Pilcavage, Managing Director of the MIT-Japan Program at the MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI).

Since 2014, Ms. Pilcavage has served as the Managing Director of the MIT-Japan Program, providing students with opportunities to study the Japanese language and culture. She has also facilitated the annual placement of many students in Japan, enabling them to gain practical experience through internships with Japanese companies. Through these initiatives, she has made significant contributions to the promotion of academic and cultural exchange between Japan and the United States.

In addition, Ms. Pilcavage has been actively involved in activities within the Japanese American community in the New England region, contributing to the promotion of mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and the United States.

In recognition of these long-standing contributions and achievements, Ms. Pilcavage was awarded the Foreign Minister’s Commendation.
