Consul General Takahashi Participates in the New England Kenjinkai “Oshogatsu” New Year Celebration (January 17, 2026)

On January 17th, Consul General Takahashi participated in the 48th annual “New England Kenjinkai Oshogatsu” New Year Celebration, which is held annually by Japanese-Americans from the six New England states. More than 100 Japanese-Americans, including Massachusetts State Representative Erika Uyterhoeven and Representative Amy Mah Sangiolo, attended the event, and provided a valuable opportunity to deepen mutual friendships.
In his remarks, Consul General Takahashi emphasized the importance of leadership among young Japanese-Americans who will lead the next generation, as well as the strengthening of the community. He also expressed his commitment to working together with the local Japanese-American community to further develop Japan–U.S. relations.
