JET Returnee Welcome Reception (December 6, 2025)

On December 6th, a reception welcoming JET returnees was held in Boston at the Consul General’s residence. Many guests, including former JETs, were in attendance.
At the beginning of the reception, Consul General Takahashi encouraged the JET returnees to participate in Japan-related activities in New England, emphasizing their role in bridging Japan and the United States.
During their remarks, Director Theodore Gilman of BOLLI (Brandeis Osher Lifelong Learning Institute), a former executive director of the Reischauer Institute for Japanese Studies and a pioneering JET Program participant, joined recently returned JETs in sharing their experiences from their time in Japan.
The event also featured a beautiful koto performance by Mr. Garrett Groesbeck, a former JET participant and MEXT scholar.
