Consul General Takahashi’s Visit to the Japan-America Friendship Festival (October 25, 2025)

On October 25, Consul General Takahashi attended and delivered remarks at the Japan-America Friendship Festival, held at Touro Park, in Newport, RI.
At the festival, attendees celebrated the sister-city relationship between Newport and Shimoda, Shizuoka, with the delegation from Shimoda, led by Mr. Sadami Yamada, Superintendent of Education of Shimoda City. RI State Senate Linda Ujifusa, Mayor Charlie Holder of Newport, and Honorary Consul Steve Aveson also attended the event.
The event featured musical performances and presentations of Japanese culture by local organizations, providing visitors with an opportunity to enjoy and experience the spirit of Japan–U.S. cultural exchange.
