Foreign Minister’s Commendations for FY 2025

On August 28th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan announced the recipients of the Foreign Minister's Commendation for fiscal year 2025. This year, 178 individuals and 59 organizations were selected, including the following individuals residing in the New England area:
 
  • Dr. Sarah Elizabeth Thompson (Terrie and Bradley Bloom Curator of Japanese Prints, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston), for promoting Japanese culture in the U.S.A.
  • Ms. Christine S. Pilcavage (Managing Director, MIT Japan Program, MIT International Science & Technology Initiative), for promoting mutual understanding between Japan and the U.S.A.
 
The Consulate-General of Japan in Boston extends its heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to Dr. Thompson and Ms. Pilcavage.
 
The Foreign Minister's Commendations are awarded to individuals and organizations with outstanding achievements in international affairs to acknowledge their contributions to promoting friendship between Japan and other countries and regions. The commendations also aim to foster understanding and support among the Japanese public for the recipients' activities.
