On March 11, Consul General Takahashi visited Concord, New Hampshire, and exchanged views with Governor Kelly Ayotte at the New Hampshire State House.

At the outset of the meeting, Consul General Takahashi once again extended his congratulations to Governor Ayotte on her inauguration and expressed his desire to further strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Japan and New Hampshire, especially in light of the upcoming 120th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Portsmouth this September. Both sides agreed to further strengthen economic relations and deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

Additionally, Consul General Takahashi briefly exchanged greetings with Speaker of the New Hampshire House of Representatives Sherman Packard, who attended the Emperor’s Birthday Reception on February 27 as a guest of honor. They reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close communication going forward.

Furthermore, a business roundtable was hosted by the New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs. The discussion, which included the participation of the President of JETRO New York, featured a lively exchange of views on strengthening economic and business relations between Japan and New Hampshire.
