The Awarding Ceremony of the Foreign Minister’s Commendation for Mr. Timothy Rowe, Founder and CEO of Cambridge Innovation Center

On January 17th, Consul General Takahashi held the awarding ceremony of the Foreign Minister’s Commendation for Mr. Timothy Rowe, Founder and CEO of Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC).
 
Mr. Rowe founded CIC in 1999, creating a space that fosters innovation by promoting connections among entrepreneurs. He has made significant contributions to supporting Japanese companies and startups in their expansion into the United States. In particular, he has collaborated with our consulate, JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), and various local Japanese government to host events for entrepreneurs. Additionally, he has actively delivered his knowledge to Japanese government, business representatives visiting the Unites States. In 2020, he established the first CIC location in Asia, in Toranomon, Tokyo, continuing to play a crucial role in establishing an innovation ecosystem in Japan. This commendation recognizes Mr.Rowe’s significant contribution to promoting and strengthening economic relations between Japan and the United States.
