Consul General Takahashi’s Arrival Reception

Consul General Takahashi's arrival reception was held at his official residence on November 13 and was attended by a wide range of guests, including politicians, heads of the diplomatic and consulate corps, academics, representatives of cultural groups, business circles, members of the Japan-U.S. friendship organizations and Japanese communities.
In his remarks, Consul General Takahashi touched on his memories of studying in Boston 30 years ago and said that he was deeply moved to serve as Consul General of Japan in Boston and New England, which have a deep historical relationship with Japan. Consul General Takahashi expressed his intention to strengthen cooperation with each state and municipality, and to actively support people-to-people meetings and exchanges.
He also stated that he would explore ways to further enhance the synergy of talents, activities and achievements of all Japanese or Japanese-U.S. related communities and stakeholders in Boston, New England. "As part of this effort, I am initiating the launch of ‘Cultural and Innovative Fridays at CGJ Boston,’ a new public platform to make the Consulate General's external communication function more open and vibrant," he said.
Massachusetts State Representative Erica Uyterhoeven, speaking on behalf of the guests, expressed her wish to work with Consul General Takahashi and his office to further strengthen our relationship.
Guests enjoyed a variety of Japanese cuisine prepared by Chef Asai, sushi prepared by Chef Toru Ohga, a Goodwill Ambassador for the Promotion of Japanese Cuisine, and sake from Iwate, Consul General Takahashi's home prefecture.
