Meeting with former Massachusetts State Representative Keiko Matsudo Orrall

 On November 5th, Consul General Takahashi welcomed former Massachusetts State Representative Keiko Matsudo Orrall to the consulate. They exchanged opinions on strengthening the Japan-United States relationship in Massachusetts, focusing on politics, the economy and tourism.
 Former State Representative Orrall became the first Asian American woman to be elected as a State Representative to the Massachusetts Legislature in 2010. After stepping down, she served on the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI), and also as Executive Director of the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism. In the spring of 2019, in recognition of her work furthering friendship and mutual understanding between Japan and the United States, she received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays from the Government of Japan.
