On July 29, Consul General Suzuki presented the Consul General's Commendation to the Boston Japan Festival Committee at the official residence. In his remarks, Consul General Suzuki expressed his respect and appreciation to all the committee members who volunteered their time to organize the festival, mobilize the Japanese community in Boston, promote Japanese culture, and provide an opportunity for the Japanese and local communities to come together. This past April, the Boston Japan Festival was held in person for the first time in five years, attracting more than 100,000 visitors, the highest number ever.
The Consul General’s Commendation is awarded to individuals or groups who have made significant contributions to the promotion of mutual understanding and friendly relations between Japan and the United States.
