On January 30, the Consulate-General of Japan in Boston, in conjunction with the Fletcher School at Tufts University, hosted “Japan's Engagement with Global Challenges: Japan’s role in the Covid-19 Pandemic, the War in Ukraine, and Peacebuilding in South Sudan and Afghanistan,” a lecture by Professor Daisaku Higashi of Sophia University’s Global Education Center, one of Japan’s leading scholars in the field of mediation and peacebuilding.
Professor Higashi gave a thought-provoking lecture based on his fieldwork, research, and extensive practical experience. Participants engaged in a lively exchange of views on international affairs, as well as Japan’s ways of contributing to conflict areas.
