Relief Donations in Response to the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake

Following the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, starting from January 22nd, the Government of Japan has made a decision to accept overseas donations.
Donations will be accepted in address to the Government of Japan or to the Japanese Red Cross Society. Donations addressed to the Government of Japan will be distributed to the earthquake victims, but details such as the method will be determined by the Cabinet Office at a later date. Donations addressed to the Japanese Red Cross Society will not be donated to the organization efforts, but will be directly donated to the earthquake victims.

1. Donations at the Consulate Office

Please bring your donation (either check or cash) to the Consulate Reception and indicate to the receptionist that you would like to make a donation.
Please check the following when donating by check.
Check payable to:
Consulate-General of Japan in Boston
For all contributions, please write “For Noto/Government of JPN” or “For Noto/JPN Red Cross” on the memo line.

2. Donations by mail

We are only able to accept checks by mail.

Please enclose attached paper filled with the individual or organization donor’s name and address, as well as your email if you would like to receive a receipt, and place it in the envelope. We will send you a receipt via email at a later date.
