Mr. ABE Shinichiro receives the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays

On July 2, Consul General Suzuki congratulated Mr. Shinichiro Abe at the official residence for receiving the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays from the Japanese government on April 29. Mr. Abe was recognized for his contribution towards promoting the Japanese culture in the United States. He has spent many years designing, constructing, and restoring Japanese gardens in the United States and has given many lectures on the history of Japanese gardens. In addition, he has assisted with the U.S.-Japan Friendship Cherry Tree project.
