Consul General Suzuki attends ‘Representation Matters: Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Voices and Stories’ Opera Night held by the Boston Lyric Opera

On May 25th, Consul General Suzuki attended the ‘Representation Matters: Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Voices and Stories’ Opera Night held by the Boston Lyric Opera at the Boston Public Library. The event was organized in part by Nina Yoshida Nelson, a mezzo soprano singer who serves as the artistic advisor to the Boston Opera ahead of the Boston Opera’s staging of Madame Butterfly in September of this year. She additionally served as moderator of the discussion between three AAPI opera singers active in the American opera world. After showcasing their singing voices, they discussed their thoughts and careers as AAPI opera singers.
