Due to the present situation concerning COVID-19, appointments will be required when visiting the consular office from Friday, August 19th to Friday, September 2nd for the following services:

For your information, we are pleased to inform you that from August 18, American citizens residing in the U.S. are able to apply for a short-term stay visa on the Japan eVISA web site for the purpose of Business, Visiting Relatives and Tourism on a guided tour.
(Services that require appointments):
- All consular services including visa application at our visa office, excluding pick-ups.

How to make a reservation
By noon of the preceding day of your desired visit, please send your name, desired date and time, and the reason for your visit to the email address below. After the reservation has been confirmed, we will send a response to your email address.

Request for visitors to the Consulate after confirming an appointment
After your appointment has been made, we will send an email confirming your appointment. Please present this confirmation either on your mobile device or as a printed copy, along with a photo ID at the 1st floor reception desk.
If you are not feeling well on the day of your visit please refrain from visiting the Consulate until after you have recovered.
