January 27, 2023
[Updated: January 27, 2023]

1. The COVID-19 testing sites included below administer nasopharyngeal swab tests that are, as of March 4th, approved by the Government of Japan, and are able to release results, as well as the MHLW required certificate, within 72 hours. Prior to getting tested at one of these locations, please read our “Important Points to Consider” and call the testing site directly to confirm that they are able to fulfill your request.

(Important Points to Consider)
  • The testing sites included below are not endorsed by the Consulate General of Japan in Boston. The Consulate is merely providing them as recommended places that travelers to Japan can use to get tested.
  • This is not an exhaustive list of all of the COVID-19 testing sites in New England where the tests accepted by the Government of Japan are administered.
  • The COVID-19 tests administered by the testing sites below are not free of charge. You will be required to pay for the test itself and any associated fees.
  • All of the testing sites included below have confirmed that they will be able to fill out and sign the Certificate of Testing issued by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan.
  • There are a limited number of test kits per site. Because of the increase in demand for testing, these sites may not be able to meet your request. Due to this possibility, we highly recommend that you call the site beforehand to confirm that they will be able to fulfill your request.
