Lecture/Presentation by Margaret Yamamoto: Born Nisei: A Japanese American Story

In 1942 at age two months, Japanese-American Margaret Yamamoto was incarcerated with her family in an internment camp.  In her richly illustrated PowerPoint presentation, Ms. Yamamoto tells her family’s story from their immigration in 1890 through imprisonment during World War II and shows how they and other Japanese Americans endured and rebuilt their lives thereafter.

Margaret Yamamoto retired recently from more than 40 years in the communication and public relations fields. She has worked for WGBH-TV (Boston’s PBS station), Walt Disney Productions, General Electric and a number of education and healthcare organizations in New York, California and Massachusetts.
