JET Program Pre-Departure Event Held
On August 1st, the consulate held a Pre-Departure Orientation and Lunch Reception for JET program participants who will work in Japan to augment language education and facilitate international exchange at the local level. This year, 51 participants from the New England area were selected to travel to Japan. In the orientation, Consul General Himeno, who arrived in Boston on the same day, Vice President of NEJETAA Matthew Castle, and Manager of the MIT Japan Program Christine Pilcavage, who is also a former JET participant, gave words of encouragement.
