2017 Fall Conferment of Decorations of Foreign Nationals

The Government of Japan has decided to confer decorations on 149 foreign nationals on November 3．In New England, following two professors received The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon.

Prof. Paul Y. Watanabe
Professor of Political Science, University of Massachusetts Boston
Director of the Institute for Asian American Studies, University of Massachusetts Boston
For his Contribution to enhancing the social status of Japanese Americans in the United States

The commendation ceremony will be held later.
