2010 INVITATION PROGRAM FOR JAPANESE AMERICAN STUDENTS
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Sponsored by: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan
Period: March 12-23, 2010
Purpose: Provide Japanese American students with an opportunity to learn various aspects of Japan (politics, economy, society, history, culture, language, etc.).
Promote mutual understanding and exchanges between Japanese and Japanese American younger generations.
Number of Participants: 5
Qualifications:
Japanese American High school /University students
*High school students with a multiracial background are highly encouraged to apply.
*Although this program may be most suited to high school students (see provisional itinerary), university students can also apply.
Individuals who have American citizenship and who do not have Japanese citizenship
Individuals who have a strong interest in Japan
Individuals who lack the opportunity and need assistance to learn about Japan
Location of Home-Stay : Metropolitan Tokyo
Expenses to be Covered : Round-trip air ticket (Economy class) between US-Japan**
**Airport Tax, Fuel surcharge included Transportation fee to San Francisco (March 12) as well as within Japan
Hotel and meals, Excursion fees, Insurance
Expenses not to be Covered : Passport issuance fee, transportation between your home and the nearest airport, communication expenses, expenses of mini bar and other hotel services, expenses for anything for your private use.
